La La La ♪

When I was a child, I was a good chorister.

I used to practice before the class, after the class, summer holiday and even after the big earthquake. It was my passion.

After 20 years, It is pretty difficult to even be absorbed in something.
So I decided to sing again like before, with 10000 choristers!
I will sing "Symphony No.9" of Beethoven in the Osaka Jo Hall on December!

Can you imagine singing with 10000 people?
It must be super emotional experience!

Since I have to sing it in German, I am waiting for having a guest from Germany!

Trip to Seto Inland Sea - Teshima

My last blog post was about Naoshima, and I visited the other art island called "Teshima" and would like to write about it this time.

To Teshima from Naoshima, I took a boat from Honmura port and it takes about 20 minutes. There are 2 ferry port on Naoshima and you can take a ferry from Miyaura ferry terminal. (Honmura ferry port is very small and there is only one boat services to Teshima a day)

I only had 4 hours on the island, so I rented a bike as soon as I arrived and headed to Teshima Art Museum.

Biking on the peaceful island was really nice, I felt like I was back in my childhood. It's very hilly there, but all the rental bikes are electric bicycles so it's easy to go up and down.

After a 30-minute bike ride, we arrived Teshima Art Museum.
Shaped like a drop of water, the museum lies in a corner of the spacious grounds surrounded by once-fallow rice terraces that have been restored with help from local residents.

I would never forget the feeling when I stepped into the museum. Such a shocking moment. The museum was a magical place.

There were no walls, no windows, no electric lights - just a big and wide white space.
Only oval openings which have no glass and are strategically positioned in a narrow sheet of cement, which look to the sky and into the ocean, allowing the entry of wind, rain and birds. Inside one finds an ever-flowing fountains and an ambiance that changes from hour to hour and season to season, revealing countless appearances as time passes.

Everything about this museum is connected with nature.
It was an amazing art work.

I will definitely come back again!!!

We have an affiliated parking :)

If you come here by car, please do not worry about parking spots.
We have affiliated parking lots near the hostel.

This means if you stay Osaka Hana Hostel, you get a discount for parking.
Here is the main area in Osaka, so parking fee is very expensive :(
One guest said he paid over 4000yen as parking fee for this stay (Only 1 day).
This was terrible! Because it is more expensive than accommodation fee!
Exactly!

But if you park in the  affiliated parking place,  1 overnight fee is just 1500yen!

If you wanna park there, please let us know in advance.
Sometimes you need to book it.

We hope you do not get lost on your way, ha ha !

PS. These are today's photos:)

Camping in Shikoku

Im a big fan of camping. And when the cities have you sick of the site of all the concrete, there is nothing more refreshing then a trip to the river.

With thousands of rivers and streams in Shikoku, it dose not take long to find a spot which is quite and away from the roads. You can go fly fishing, spear fishing, canoeing or rafting or just take a nice long soak in the cleanest waters in Japan.

Here we played a game of 'Spade Cricket'. With so much time, its better than sitting alone, writing blogs or updating social network sites.

And as for the food. It really is the 'Life of Riley'. I would eat like this every day if I didn't think that I would become a beach ball.

Hikone castle

I went to Hikone castle in Shiga prefecture.

Hikone castle is one of four castles in Japan designated as National Treasures.

Hikone castle

You can see Biwa lake from the castle. The Biwa lake is is the largest freshwater lake in Japan

There is a cute mascot for the castle called Hikonyan

His presence made the castle famous.

It was shame that we could not meet him because he was on business journey. He is always busy.

Tottori!!!!!!!!!

Tottori is not a famous prefecture for tourist.

But if you are interested in Anime or Manga, I'd like you to visit there.
There is a street called "Yokai street" in Sakaiminato, Tottori.

You can enjoy the world of "GeGeGe no Kitaro"

It is Manga series in 1959 by Shigeru Mizuki.
He is best known for its popularization of the folklore creatures known as "Yokai" a
class of spirit-monster to which all of the main characters belong.

The train is covered by character design, it's so cute!!
You will see so many  Yokai bronze statues when you walk the street.
It is fun to take a picture!!

I found Ema (It is wooden tablets on which to write one's wishes) in the shape of  Yokai, breads are also!!

I like to try craft beer, so I tried beer called "Kitaro beer".

The signs are so funny!!
At the hair salon, cafe, even street lights...
You can see Yokai everywhere!!

Tottori is also famous for sand dune.
It is only one place in Japan.

I hope you have chance to visit Yokai town:)

comedy performance

Osaka is famous for owarai that is comedy performance.

I have been to owarai performance live show for the first time last week.
Comedians who were in the live show are not famous but it was so funny.

Ticket costs only 1500 yen and they have different kinds of performance show everyday.

You can see it at 5up yoshimoto which is just located in front of Namba grand kagetsu.

They also have an event at Suma beach as well.

It's highly recommended to watch the comedy performance when you visit in Osaka:)

Summer Sonic!

I was so phyched about it but the weather, unfortunately, was horrible.
They even said that we had to evacuate the stage for a little while.

While we were "evacuated", Pitbull and Jamirocuai went back to their hotel and
they have not come back......cancelled.

I wanted money back because they were one of my reasons to buy the ticket.
I honored Kesha and Rihanna!

Rihanna was so hot. so glad to see her!

Second day was alright. I could see Green day and Sigur Ros as I palned.

Yeey!

A barbecue party!

Summer is almost gone but still hot here!
I had a barbecue party with my girls yesterday!
It was extremely hot!!!
After eating we made a human pyramid.
We didn't care people were staring us.
It was hilarious!!!

I love my girls, they are just amazing:D
