This
is the opening festival of the climbing season for Mt. Norikura in the
Chūbu-Sangaku National Park. Norikura Skyline, a sightseeing road, has
been operated for 40 years since it opened in 1973.
The festival includes a praying ceremony for road safety, sake tasting
and folk performances in the Tatamidaira parking lot at the height of
2,702m above sea level.
Norikura Skyline opens from Wed 15 May to Thu 31 October.
