I enjoyed some last night at Osaka.

It's a king of Makizushi. (Sushi roll)

The name is SABA TAKU.

SABA means Morth Borneo.

Taiwan trip in January

Hi everyone,
It is Nana from the J-Hoppers in Takayama.
The year 2017 starts great for me with my first travel in Asia (other than Japan) : Taiwan.

Between the 9th and 12th I went to the Southern part of Taiwan : Takao and Tainan. If everyone go to Taipei, my first trip to Taiwan was only on the south
I was lucky enough to get a private guide who shew me around. I spend half a day in Takao before staying two days in Tainan, and coming back to Takao before flying to Osaka.

The image I keep from Taiwan is : 1) Bike (scouter), 2) Colorful, 3) Banyan tree

I might have said "construction" too as we run into a lot of  construction during our trip. We finished by laughed about more than getting upset. But even though Taiwan was really beautiful and totally different from Japan.

Dome of Light in Takao

House of Tree in Anping in Tainan

Tainan colorful district by night

Takao art zone

Great Emperess temple in Tainan

Confucius Temple in Tainan
I got wonderful time in Taiwan and great weather.
So if you go to Taiwan, do not miss the south too !
Then when I came back in Takayama it was just in time to be caught in 3 days of heavy snow !

My 30th Birthday Party

Hi, this is Shoko from Osaka Hana Hostel.

It has been almost one month since the new year begins

I can't believe how fast time goes by!!

The other day, Hana staff gave a big birthday party for me.

We made Korean BBQ and it was soooo delicious.

They also prepared a beautiful birthday cake :)

Look at my happy face.

Before blowing the candles, I of course made a wish.

Actually, It wasn't only one but I hope all of them will come true.

It is a cute birthday cake, isn't it?

The 30 candle is melting though...

Group photo with cake!

Thank you sooooo much for celebrating my 30th birthday, guys!!

I love all the presents they gave me, too.

I'm glad that I can work with such a nice people.

I also want to thank them for the present and warm celebration.

I'm looking forward to seeing you again in near future at Hana Hostel!!

Everybody is making a snowman

A happy new year, everyone.

It's been snowy for a few days in Kyoto.

It looks so good only if you hole up a room with a coffee and see the view of snow from the window but if you have to go out for work etc, that is terrible.

I wish I had skis, so I could commute with them.
I'm just wondering if skiing on sidewalk is legal in Japan or not. I'm not gonna google it so if someone knows, tell me about that.

I was also surprised that the all of the public transportation system in Kyoto worked normal despite of the huge snow storm.

I'm from Takayama where usually has tons of snow in winter so I'm used to this much of snow. So I'm totally fine walking on snow-covered-icy road. But, from my perspective, I thought people in the city were not so good at walking on the snow but I was amazed because I saw a few people riding a bikes in this morning so it was such a brain-washing for me.

Anyway, I hope we get more snow until my friend can finish up his 2 meters of snow man.

SAMUI (It's harsh) in 2017

 Belated Happy New Year !!

It is snowing in Hiroshima. ( ゚Д゚)
I still miss summer.

Hi, this is Shiori from J-hoppers Hiroshima.

I have in mind at around this time of year that I shouldn't have eaten too much during New year holidays :(

I am getting fat more and more. TT

So, I bought a whole workout clothes set for training at GYM to solve this matter.
(But I have not signed up for a gym yet.)

When I nervously clicked place your order on shopping site to get a swimming suit, my mom was looking at me and she said "Are you really sure to go to gym? Can you keep it up?"

.....................................。

I know my mom knows everything about me.
I always spend money easily and I tend to get tired of things quickly...

Her words bit hit me. →Specially "Can you keep it up?"

With that being said,  I declare to go to gym at least for 6 month or until losing weight -5kg.
・・・・・・제 파이팅!

Anyway, everyone take care not to catch a cold :)

Last Party in 2016

Hello there. It's Chippy from J Hoppers Hiroshima.

It's been almost two weeks since the new year 2017 began. How's it going so far?

Looking back, in 2016, It feels I couldn't realize any goals I set at the beginning of the year. A lot happened and I didn't have enough time to spare for myself :(
SO! I. DECLARE. TO. START. THE. GUITAR in 2017!!  It's been one of the new year objectives for the last few years, but never come true... I will realize this goal this year!!

My new year started out just like that without happening anything big..
However, we held some big party at J Hoppers Hiroshima on new year's eve!

When you think of winter, what do you think of?

YES! NABE!!

We threw a "NABE"(hot pot) party as the last party in 2016.

Around 9pm, staff started to prepare for the party cutting ingredients, placing plates on the table.. People were gradually getting together in the lounge.
Cooked two kinds of NABE; Soy Milk  & Soy Sauce

At 10pm, let's get the party started!! Everybody DIG IN!! XD

Enjoying the Japanese traditional dish.

At 11:55, New year's just around the corner!!
Everyone watching TV waiting for the moment to come!
five minutes to 2017
A HAPPY NEW YEARRR!
It was really nice to have everyone around and celebrate the same moment together. I wish everyone a Happy New Year with the hope that they will have many blessings in the year!

I'm also really excited to meet new people and get to learn more things from them through my job as a staff in J Hoppers. Looking forward to meeting many people here in Hiroshima :)
