Photogenic spot in Kyoto

There are so many places where we want to go and take photos in Kyoto.
I'd like to introduce two famous places where you can take a 'photogenic' picture.

1: Yasaka Koshindo
Located at Higashiyama area, where Kiyomizu temple is. It's famous for such a colorful kukurizaru (Monkey with bound feet and hands. You can write a wish on this.) which is hanged everywhere.

2: Yasui Konpiragu
Located at Gion area, this place is famous for the people who wish to break off all kinds of bad relationships and initiating good ones. They pass through a hole in a large stone & make a wish.

Get addicted to spicy food....

Hi,this is Ena from Hiroshima Hana Hostel.
I am already in the summer mood...
The hot-humid weather makes me feel dull and also makes me want to eat something spicy. One day,I found on the the calender at the reception that the 4th Wednesday in May is marked as`the Curry day!.
Our manager,Kana-san likes doing anything fun and we all like doing it together.
She knew that I like spicy food and invited me to the event. (She also wrote about the curry party on her blog)

After the curry party,I am crazy about spicy food more than before...

This month,we also did the party of 'Shirunashi-Tantanmen'(the Brothless Dandan Noodles),which is famous spicy noodles in Hiroshima. Was really really tasty!!! I even cooked at home again by myself again after that.

If you find anything spicy (and tasty),please...please let me know!

the Spicy Korean Udon(a guest from Mexico gave me and I really liked it!!)
Cooked the Brothless Dandan Noodles many times at home..

the Taiwan curry (was not so spicy for me..)

Outing in Yukata

Spring is over and summer has come !
Swimming , tramping , watermelon, fireworks aaaaaaand.... YUKATA !!!!

One of the must things to do in summer is an outing in Yukata.
Some people ask me what is the difference between Kimono and Yukata.
Yukata is made of cotton fabric and people put it on in summer on the other hand, kimono is thicker than Yukata or is made of silk fabric and people dress in kimono on special occasions such as wedding reception or at tea ceremony etc but as a dairy use is also fine!

What is fun about wearing Yukata is the moment hunting for your favorite one out of a wide varieties of colors and patterns and wondering around and taking pictures with friends in the city!

One of my favorite places in Gion is by Shirakawa Dori and it is very photogenic!

If you are keen on Japanese culture, Yukata outing might be for you!

Here's my favorite Kimono(Yukata) rental shop !
Staff are so welcoming, friendly and helpful :)
Very nice location, close to Fushimi-inari :)
Super recommended !

Discover North Kyoto !

Hi there !
It's Madi here :)

Last Wedenesday, it was my birthday so I took a day trip to Kyo-Tango city where is located north area in Kyoto and this is my favorite city :)
This city faces Japan sea and famous Amanohashidateone of the three most beautiful viewing sites in Japan, boat housesin Ine (Funaya-gun), Kotohiki-Hama beach famous for the sand that makes sound when treaded on it (Naki-suna).

This time, I went to see a swing on the beach in that area.
Unfortunately the weather was not good, when I got there, super thick cloud welcomed me :(
I wished I could see beautiful sunset as well as swing cause the beach is aka marvelous sunset view on this season.
Well, it's for next time :)

Anyway a swing is made by drift woods and looks so lovely.
And because of the weather, there were only few people so then I could spend much time to take good picture :)

I also went to another beach called Kotohiki-Hama beach aka singing sand beach.
It was really singing !!! It was so fun :) and there was a little onsen out there ! ( I didn't try cause I didn't have swimwear with me.)

I definitely recommend to visit this city once you are here :)

Hello readers. Minshin here.

The other day, I was visiting the Hyogo Prefectural Museum of Art, the place held the Studio Ghibli Grand Exhibition.

The Studio Ghibli has been very famous since my childhood, I have watched Totoro, Nausicaa, Spirited Away, Princess Mononoke and Castle in the sky, etc., almost all the famous Studio Ghibli movies.
The first photo spot was in the Cat bus.

The second spot was in a model of Laputa.

There are plenty of good you can only buy there.

We have come all the way to Kobe, so I also went to hang around the Chinatown.
You can drink not only Tsingtao beer but Taiwan beer here.

The grilled steamed bun.

There are lots of food stalls here and some stalls served Kobe beef.
This option is not bad and much less than the price you would pay at a restaurant.

I also recommend to drink the Bubble tea here as the shop named Tenfuku(天福茗茶) which the flavor is so similar to Taiwan which is the place of invention.
Take a break in the Starbucks, seeing green plants while tasting a coffee.

This event is until 1st of July, so actions speak louder than words.

All the best,
Minshin

SUPER HOT CURRY

Konnichiwa from Hiroshima Hana hostel, It's Kana here.
Japan has rainy season which i in June. Hiroshima finally got into rainy season this week.. I wish the weather will not bpther people who is traveling in Japan.

Have you tried Japanese style curry?
Somehow I am into Curry these-day. Not only normal curry but HOT curry! I would say quite hot.

You do not have to go to restaurant, You can get "
Pre-packaged curry" everywhere in Japan. Such as supermarket and convenience store. There are usually "Mild,Medium spicy, and Spicy".

But look what I found !!!

"X30" mean is 30 times more spicier than "Spicy"!! And it was really spicy!! Like a burning!!! But it is also tasty so if you have any opportunity please give it a try! It will be one of your great experience in Japan, and you will enjoy it!!
