KINTAI-KYO

I went to Kintai-kyo(bridge) with my friend last week.

It takes about 1 hour and half from my house by car.

I haven’t been there since I was child.

Kintai-kyo is a bridge in the city of Iwakuni in Yamaguchi prefecture.

The bridge was build 1673.However the third and fourth arches were washed away by a big tyhoon, 1950.

And 1953,after two years work, the Kintai bridge reopened.

The town around the bridge is small. But it is artistic and traditional.

It takes about 30min from Miyajima Island by train and bus.

So I recommend it as a 1-day trip with Miyajima Island.

We spent half day at Kintai-kyo.

There is a ropeway to the top of mountain behind the town.

We ‘d love to have taken it but we couldn’t do it because we didn’t enough time….L

But we had a great time there anyway!!
