this makes the trip unforgettable
Talking of traveling, the most unforgettable moments are not visiting Taj Mahal or walking on the Great Wall in China, but making local friends and spend time with them as they do.
One weekend’s evening when I worked at the reception, I stared chatting with one of the guests. They are boy and girl from Germany with two Japanese men, met in the nightclub in Tokyo a few months ago then now traveling together. They asked about good nightclubs in Kyoto because they thought I am from Kyoto and judged I am a person who turns out the town every single weekend. Unfortunately, I am not local, and to make matters worse, I am a person who is at home and watches Johnny Depp’s movies on weekends.
After I confessed what I am, they lectured me what the proper weekends’ night should be and invited me their weekend night in Kyoto. I also phoned my girlfriend to ask if she could come with me. In this way, our unforgettable weekend’s night has begun.
They (a boy and a girl from Germany) wanted to teach me how to spend the weekends’ nights, on the other hands; they wanted to be taught it in ‘Japanese way’. So I appointed the meeting place in front of Mini stop (convenience store) in order to fill half up our body with alcohol before going to the club. Thus we can make our drinking bill much cheaper for tonight (prices for beverage are set too high at the nightclubs.) We took gathering photos with a self-timer camera. We went to the bathroom together every time. Those are some examples for ‘How we hung out in Japanese way’ I guess.
Inside of that nightclub we went, there were more local people (or looked like locals). Our guests got excited of that and sooner I had been certain this night were going to be awesome. And it was, actually.
There are few chances to experience their real life when we are other people’s countries. That is why, when we encounter that situations, it makes our trip special and unforgettable.
