the eigty-eighth day

It has been hotter and hotter these days in Kyoto. My back was slightly sweaty while hostel cleaning time. There is smell of the summer. On May 1st of this year is the eighty-eighth day from the beginning of spring. It has been said that the season shifts from spring to summer on this day. You might see Tea-picking in Uji area around this season. People say the leaves that are picked on eighty-eighth day are especially good. (It is also set up as a ‘Green tea’s day’ by Japan Tea Central Association) We very much enjoyed the cherry blossom and now are looking forward to the season of fresh green. If we pause ourselves for a little while in a busy day, there are full of joy around us. Even if you are not on a trip.
