One day trip from Hiroshima!!

Hi there!!This is Chika from J-Hoppers Hiroshima guesthouse.

It's getting cold as time passes.....
But!!!!The season for autumn leaves finally started at the beginning of Novenber!!!yay!!

By the way,Have you been to Kurashiki before??
Kurashiki is a historic city located to the west of Okayama Prefecture.
It is pretty good place for one day trip from Hiroshima.

If you have a Japan Rail Pass,you could just hop on SHINKANSEN KODAMA from Hiroshima to Shin-Kurashiki station.
It take about 1 hour and change the local train to Kurashiki station.
Even if you do have the rail pass,you can go there by local train.
In this case,sometimes you have to transfer the train at  Itosaki or Fukuyama.
But depends on,there is direct train from Hiroshima to Kurashiki.
It takes around 2 hours and half.

Kurashiki is the home of Japan's first museum for Western art, the Ohara Museum of Art.
The old merchant quarter is called the Bikan historical area. It contains many fine examples of 17th century wooden warehouses (kura,) painted white with traditional black tiles, along a canal framed with weeping willows and filled with koi.

There are lots of nice and good cafe and shops and as Bikan area is so beautiful,so I could't stop taking photos when I visited there :-)


Besides,there is a huge outlet shopping center where the opposite to Bikan area.
If you feel a bit tired with sightseeing,why don't you go this outlet shopping center?
