Mt. Bunagatake (武奈ヶ岳) is 1,214 meter high mountain in Shiga prefecture.
It is one of the 200 must-climb mountain in Japan. We stayed at J-Hoppers Lake Biwa Guesthouse on the previous day.

I climbed up this mountain in the middle of September and it was a bit rough after the typhoon and still early for the Autumn leaves. But now it is full colored and best time to visit !

Autumn color does not last long so hurry hurry to Mt.Bunagatake !

Hi! I would like to climb the Mt. Bunagatake as well this weekend and I'm staying in the same hostel. Do you have suggestions how I can reach the start of the trail? And is the route clearly marked? I'm looking forward to hear from you! Kind regards, Anne Peters.
